It takes a while to download but what a treat!! You don't waste time reading endless paragraphs, trying to guess does she mean this or that -you still can if you want to or you can just tap the video in each chapter and have Tara demonstrate and walk you through each exercise.
This is by far the best kindle book I have ever downloadd! Paperback Verified download.
I've followed Tara for a long time and admire her teaching style and practice so I really had high hopes. But, I have to say I was really disappointed in this text. For example: A sequence to relieve a headache - it had Downward Facing Dog as one of the poses.
Another aspect I would have liked to see in this book are modifications. Whether reading this for yourself or clients - I would think your goal is healing something that is injured. However, there are no alternatives or modification which may be needed in order to not re-injure or aggravate an injury. I'm keeping it and will refer to it for some sequence additions as well as for her cuing and descriptions because they are very precise and easy to follow.
But, sadly it's not the informational text I was hoping for. The pictures of the poses were great as were her explanations of them. I did not give the book a 5 because it could have used a table of contents. It would have been nice to look up a particular ailment and then studied the yoga moves to counteract it instead of searching through the whole book. She really repeats a lot of yoga moves, too.
In the end I felt that if I go to a yoga class and concentrate on my form and work on getting deeper in my poses, that will be just as beneficial. Joseph J. Truncale Top Contributor: If you are seeking a unique approach to practicing yoga this book is for you.
I have been practicing and teaching Yoga for quite a while and I have read numerous volumes over the years. I recently downloadd and read this page soft cover Yoga Cures: Simple routines to conquer more than 50 common ailments and live pain-free by Tara Stiles book and found it to be one of the best books I have read on Yoga. The approach in this text is using specific Yoga Asana to help cure a wide variety of health and physical ailments.
Some of the cure claims for many of these ailments by merely applying some Yoga asana is debatable; nevertheless, there is no doubt about Yoga exercise routines being good for fitness of mind, body and spirit. This book is organized into two parts plus a bonus section. What You Get Watch: Over 50 instructional sessions and 15 classes, covering a wide variety of topics and uses.
Read: Session-by-session notes and tips, and a page Guidebook covering each section of the course, that give additional direction and detail, along with regular homework assignments. Progress: A 1-Month and Multi-Month training and practice plan. Everybody learns in their own way, at their own pace, and this training is yours to go through in your own time.
