Memberships Books Tim Has Written Tim Knight has been writing professionally since , and his first book, The World Connection , accurately predicted the tectonic shifts that were going to take place due to computer communications a dozen years before the first web browser even existed. More recently, he has focused on financial markets. His 25th book, Silicon Valley Babble On, as well as some other recent volumes are shown below. This book is not available for download, but is instead offered as a free gift to those who subscribe to any annual premium membership package. Although the printed book at nearly pages, which folds out flat for easy viewing next to your computer is recommended, there is also a Kindle version available here. Silicon Valley Babble On Before the financial crisis began, a community of traders was created which used charts, economic cycles, and political discourse to shape their investment decisions. Over the course of a dozen years, Tim Knight wrote over 15, posts on Slope, and he has gathered up what he considers the best and most illuminating of these in Silicon Valley Babble On. Topics covered include startups and culture in the valley, the effects of the bubble and its aftermath, his own experiences building and selling high-tech businesses, lessons from the fast-paced world of equity trading, and life lessons drawn from personal experience. The book also features poignant essays written by other members of the Slope community. Chart Your Way to Profits Technical analysis is the study of past price movement for the purpose of predicting future price movement. If done correctly, it can lead to substantial trading profits. No one knows this better than author Tim Knight, who has been charting and trading the financial markets for more than thirty years. No matter what you trade, technical analysis can make you a better and more profitable trader. Price charts will consistently provide the most complete representation of the supply and demand behind any financial instrument because everything that can be publicly known or speculated is already built into the graph.

The author also writes blog, which I would recommend to all reading this book. It makes great opportunity to see how the theory is put into practice.

One person found this helpful. I bought this book as I follow Tim Knights blog slopeofhope daily, actually, multiple times a day, actually multiple times a day like a crack addict. I bought it for 2 reasons, I like the blog and want to support the author, and I wanted to learn his prophetcharts charting tool while honing my technical analysis skills.

This book delivers in spades.

If you're an Investools Student, a ThinkorSwim'er, or just someone that's looking for an amazingly versatile charting platform this book is for you. Thanks again Tim and I'm looking forward to downloading your next TA endeavor whenever that may be.

This book is not fairly advertised. It is really a handbook for the author's prophet software. That software is availabe on the Internet as well as through the thinkorswim platform. In addition to being a handbook it is also a primer on all different kinds of technical analysis, but that seems to be a secondary purpose of the book. If you use the prophet application and you are a new trader, this books might be for you.

Otherwise you won't need this book. Better to read the author's blog instead to get an idea of how one persons trades for what that is worth. The method aims to predict when prices are going to turn by comparing the closing price of a security to its price range. Day Trading vs The Alternatives Yes, you have day trading, but with options like swing trading, traditional investment, and binary options, how do you know which one to opt for?

Swing trading — Swing traders usually make their play over several days or even weeks, which makes it different to day trading.

What is The Best Trading Strategy To Earn A Living (Updated )

It can still be a good method for the trader who wants to diversify. Traditional investing — Traditional investing is a longer game and looks to put money in popular assets such as stocks, bonds, cash, and real estate for long-term value appreciation.

Unless you are already rich and can invest millions, traditional investing returns too little to make much of a difference on a daily basis. However, the intelligent trader will also invest long-term. Robo-advisors — An increasing number of people are turning to robo-advisors. You simply chose an investing profile, then punch in your degree of risk and time frame for investing.

Then an algorithm will do all the heavy lifting. This is normally a long-term investing plan and too slow for daily use. Day trading vs long-term investing are two very different games.

They require totally different strategies and mindsets. Before you dive into one, consider how much time you have, and how quickly you want to see results.

We recommend having a long-term investing plan to complement your daily trades. If so, you should know that turning part-time trading into a profitable job with a liveable salary requires specialist tools and equipment to give you the necessary edge. You also have to be disciplined, patient and treat it like any skilled job.

Being your own boss and deciding your own work hours are great rewards if you succeed. Analytical Software Whilst it may come with a hefty price tag, day traders who rely on technical indicators will rely more on software than on news. Software is another of the day trading tools to add to your arsenal.

This enables traders to better understand how particular trading methods may perform in the future.
